David Chambers is a director, writer, and producer of theatre and opera, with a touch of film thrown in.

As such, his work has been seen in New York from basements to Broadway to BAM; in major performing arts venues throughout the US; and internationally in Europe, Russia, and Asia. He taught directing and acting for three decades as a Professor Adjunct at The Yale School of Drama. He has recently taught ongoing courses at Yale College, Harvard College, and The graduate New School for Drama in New York. He has particular interests in the evolution of Russian directing and acting from Stanislavsky to today’s avant-garde in Moscow, the emergence of the American avant-garde theatre in the sixties and seventies, and current postdramatic theatre in the US and Europe. He lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts and Vinalhaven, Maine.
