The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust is the independent charity that cares for the world’s greatest Shakespeare heritage sites, and promotes the enjoyment and understanding of Shakespeare’s works, life and times all over the world. Based in the playwright’s home town of Stratford-upon-Avon, the Trust offers a unique Shakespeare centred experience with outstanding archive and library collections, inspiring educational and literary event programmes and five wonderful houses all directly relating to Shakespeare.
As an educational charity, the Trust hosts hundreds of school groups from across the UK and overseas every year. It also runs formal and informal education events for all ages, including a range of educational opportunities at Key Stages two, three, four and five.
Read their work in our Romeo and Juliet Historical Context Workbook, our As You Like It: Compare and Contrast resource, and in Comparing Comedy: Love's Labour's Lost and Much Ado About Nothing.
