Kitty Archer discusses what helped her get under the skin of playing the character of Desdemona in English Touring Theatre’s production of Othello.
Archer explains how she used the text to develop her character, analysing Desdemona’s actions and comparing them to previous interpretations to define her role, and highlights the difficulties faced by the women in the play who often feel displaced in such a masculine environment.
