Four of Shakespeare's protagonists are put under investigation in In Defence of Character. Director Miranda Cromwell leads a group of actors to analyse, interpret and perform the text to develop an understanding of their characters.
Akiya Henry is in the hot seat as Viola and charged with an offence relating to her actions in the play. She must plead guilty or innocent, stating her case and defending her position as the other characters are called upon as witnesses.
