“Contemporary theatre, performance and art can be a means of exploring new ways of seeing and acting in the social and political world.”
4x45 is an innovative series of commissioned academic lectures and interviews, captured on film, providing a range of perspectives on a topic, theme or practitioner. Each volume, comprising four chapters, is hosted on Digital Theatre+ and published in print by Routledge.
In this lecture from Volume Three, ‘Performance and Migration’, Anne Ring Petersen of the University of Copenhagen considers the idea of ‘postmigration’, discussing in detail the concept of migratory aesthetics. Taking an interdisciplinary approach, Petersen considers specific works of contemporary and political art from around Europe, including Crazy Blood at Berlin’s Ballhaus Naunynstraße and two works by Copenhagen-based multimedia artist Jeannette Ehlers.
This lecture was filmed at the University of Copenhagen in February 2018.
