Celebrate Shakespeare Week with Digital Theatre Plus

This week (17 to 23 March 2014) is Shakespeare Week; a new national, annual celebration to bring Shakespeare to life vividly for millions of primary school children.

Shakespeare Week, an initiative of the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust, is being celebrated in schools, theatres, historic sites, museums, galleries, cinemas, and libraries all over the UK. Together with their partners, the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust hopes Shakespeare Week will give every child the chance to be inspired by Shakespeare’s stories, language and heritage.

Digital Theatre Plus is thrilled to be involved in the celebration as a partner. During the week, we are offering all participating primary schools free access to our rich library of Shakespeare productions and related resources. Schools will have complete access to the full-length productions, which can be screened at your school at any time during the week.

Creative Producer of Digital Theatre Plus, Fiona Lindsay, comments: “Digital Theatre Plus is thrilled to be part of the Shakespeare Week. Our driving ambition is to offer the best possible access to our rich cultural heritage – wherever you are, whoever you are. We’re delighted to make our library of Shakespeare productions available to participating Shakespeare Week schools and to enable teachers to bring these world-class performances into their classrooms at the touch of a button.”
