Digital Theatre+ is the ultimate tool for teachers and students in grades 6-12, giving unlimited access to productions, poetry recitals, documentaries, and thousands of time-saving instructional resources.
'Digital Theatre+ gives students the opportunity to see the highest caliber of theatre from around the world. It brings all areas of the art form to life and allows them to experience the joy and wonder of a live performance without cost to them. It also provides incredible resources and interviews with people at the top of their fields. I cannot recommend this enough.'
– Kate Kimmis, Theatre Director, Kimbrough Middle School
'The theatre teachers and students in Lewisville Independent School District feel blessed to have the resources Digital Theatre+ provides. The content and curriculum provides opportunities for our students to develop their skills in critical, logical, reflective, metacognitive, and creative thinking. We cannot thank Digital Theatre+ enough for the valuable experiences our students are enjoying.
'Digital Theatre+ truly provides real life examples of what is possible and how to achieve the unimaginable. I know there are deserving students and teachers who will benefit from this resource and who need this resource to complete and augment their theatre education. I feel compelled to shout from the rooftops to all who will listen that Digital Theatre+ is a must...a necessity.'
– Missey Head, Fine Arts Coordinator, Lewisville Independent School District
'I use Digital Theatre+ to expose the majority of my students to quality examples of the art form. Digital Theatre+ provides them access to theatre content that they could otherwise not afford.'
– Rod James, Theatre Director, South Garland High School
'Engagement is a huge challenge, especially as we are a Verizon Wireless Initiative School, so all of our children have Chromebooks and gadgets to use in the class. You have to keep them engaged or else they're going to click over to a video game! DT+ content is different than what they've seen before - it's able to spark their interest, and to give them that 'light bulb moment' that you want them to have. Even the Englisht eachers are going, 'Oh, I didn't know they had so much Shakespeare!'. So it's been great for interdisciplinary work or multidisciplinary work, to show how theater is applicable to other areas for the students.
'It's so fabulous to see all of the questions popping into my students head, when before, we had been so 'question-less'. They hadn't been showing interest or energy, and then, all of a sudden, to see them perk up and want to learn more - not because they have to, but because they're actually interested. That has to be the best part.'
– Elizabeth Nikki Andrews, Theatre Director, Tanglewood Middle School
'Part of our Texas educational knowledge and skills are the students in the production classes. In our higher level acting and technical theatre classes, students are supposed to go and watch theater live - which isn't always easy. But in the year and a half since we've had access to DT+, we've used it to complete that class requirement.
'The most recent one we did was the Donmar's Julius Caesar - we talked about the concept, and students wrote reviews about the production. That's what the best thing is: being able to watch these really great productions at our school and with our students, and being able to share that experience with them.'
– Kayla Boffone, Chair of Theatre, Bellaire High School
'DT+ has helped my students to break the barriers, to get out of the walls that we all put up in our minds. When they can see, 'Wow, that person was so intense', it helps them to understand what it takes when you're on stage. If you're truly passionate about the arts, and you want to help young people - whether they pursue this as a professional career or not - then you really need to make an investment, because that's exactly what it is.
'I know a lot of the English department educators use it too, and it has helped them as well. To be able to break those lessons down, it makes it much easier to teach.
'DT+ has allowed them to learn so much about this beautiful art form that the world depends on. When you have students that are pursuing this as a career, DT+ helps them to learn the right way. I'll say what the kids say: DT+ is the bomb! Make the investment.'
– Margo Hickman, Theatre Director, Yates High School
'I am so thankful for DT+. I wish it had been around when I first started teaching! We are so fortunate to be able to use this in our district. I find that my top students are searching the site on their own and taking charge of enrichments for themselves.'
– Natalie Dommer, Theatre Teacher, Pasadena Memorial High School
'As a seasoned theatre director, I do not have access to many resources or materials specific to my discipline. It's very hard at times. However, our district was willing to provide this invaluable resource to us and I'm beyond grateful. It is my hope that other teachers in other core classes will see the benefit of this treasure trove of educational material. As schools, continue to rely more on digital resources to create a variety of learning modals, Digital Theatre+ can be one of the most engaging programs we currently have access to.'
– Cynthia Smith, Middle School Theatre Teacher, Bastrop Middle School
'We don't have theatre textbooks in my classroom, so Digital Theatre+ has been a game-changer! Teaching different subjects and then having videos to support learning has been very helpful in keeping students engaged. The vast library of performances help introduce students to classics on stage as well as contemporary productions. I am also a huge fan of the workbooks! They are timesavers!'
– Christopher Reese, Theatre Teacher, Sam Houston High School
'This year has been extremely busy for my family and I as we just had our first baby. She is 6 months now and between school work, responsibilities at home, and after school rehearsals, sometimes things slip through the cracks. With that being said my lesson plans have been saved because of DT+. I can navigate easily through the website and choose what lesson plans I want my students to learn this week or for the weeks to come. With the help of DT+ I am able to go home not having to worry about school work, and be there for my wife and baby without staying up late doing work.'
– Nicholas Bright, Middle School Theatre Teacher, Kingsborough Middle School
