Meet the panel...

Alesha Tatume-Howe

Alesha Tatum-Howe

Alesha is our Head of Theatre for schools and she commissions and curates all of the content and resources for students aged 11-18 and their teachers. She works directly with educators to ensure our  resources are aligned to teaching and learning objectives and can be easily integrated into your curriculum. Originally from Texas, Alesha graduated from Pace University in New York City with a B.F.A. (Magna Cum Laude) in Acting. She then spent several years in Los Angeles, pursuing acting and studying and teaching at Playhouse West in North Hollywood. Upon returning to Texas, she spent 13 years (2 years in Middle School and 11 years in High School) as a Theatre Director and District Secondary Lead Theatre Educator in Frisco ISD in North Texas. Alesha moved to the UK in the fall of 2017 and has been working with Digital Theatre+ since February 2018.

Shelby Derbyshire

Shelby Derbyshire

Shelby is our Head of ELA for schools, she commissions and curates content for secondary education ELA students and their teachers. Shelby graduated from Newcastle University in England with a BA(Hons) and MA in English Literature. She has an extensive educational publishing background and has worked for several years as the publishing manager of a UK-based educational company, Soundbitelearning, where she was responsible for working closely with teachers to create classroom resources for English studies. She later began working in strategic international relations with North American colleges and schools on behalf of her alma mater. At Digital Theatre+, Shelby works closely with teachers across the states to refine and develop standards-aligned ELA content, and to support teachers in their day-to-day.
