Build your AI confidence with real-world insights

Earlier this year, Gallup reported that 3 in 10 teachers use AI weekly – but how are they using this new technology?

To find out, we asked teachers to send in video answers to a series of AI-focused questions, ranging from how they've found AI useful when it comes to lesson planning, to the impact that this new technology has had on the development of critical thinking skills.

With a selection of video responses from teachers in China, Costa Rica, Ghana, and the UK, our panel of theatre educators discussed these real-world insights, offering a critical look at how to optimize this new technology – and the mistakes to avoid in your own lessons!

Here's an example, sent in by theatre teacher and course panelist, Katie Pritz...

Understand AI from a District-wide perspective

No one knows your classroom (or your students) better than you, and that can leave your teaching strategy feeling extremely personal. But of course, the changes that AI is causing in the education landscape are part of a wider conversation.

This is why we asked Dr. Joseph R. D'Ambrosi to join our panel for AI in the Classroom. Joseph is an award-winning educator and arts leader who serves as the Fine and Performing Arts Resource Specialist for the School District of Osceola County.

Towards the end of this session, Joseph spoke about what teachers should be asking their district for when it comes to AI. Here's an excerpt from his response...

'It's incredibly fair to ask for practical professional learning that models how we can use AI in the classroom. School districts should be investing in those opportunities. And district leaders should be vetting platforms for their privacy and compliance – for student safety, of course, but also for pedagogical input.'

'Like we keep saying, AI is not going anywhere, so we should be investing in it. And when it comes to using it in the classroom, it's ok to ask your leaders to advocate for something you care about!'
